Objectives

We aim to design FSO point-to-point system with the following objectives:

  High data rate (40 Gb/s) and long link lengths (10 km) FSO systems

      Turbulent resilient FSO beams to ensure high availability of 99.99%

  • Simulation study of vector beam propagation through turbulence under realistic beam parameters and turbulence conditions,

  • Lab testing of two beam engineering designs for suitability of future deployment with real FSOC systems.

No pointing losses (design of novel PAT system)

Channel assisted error control coding

Deliverables

Development of an automatic tracker and laser beam engineering system. Also, Development of FSO testbed (10 Gb/s and 5 km) with forward error control codes.
